A joint venture under the operational lead of 12.18. Asset Management GmbH, founded in 2021 by Managing Directors Adrian Lindner and Henri Leyer-Pritzkow, has acquired the 5-Star Superior TOP Hotel Hochgurgl in Tyrol. The hotel, located at 2,200 meters with direct access to the ski slopes in one of the most snow-secure areas in the Alps, is one of the most renowned luxury hotels in Austria.
12.18. will take over the operation of the hotel under its current name. "TOP Hotel Hochgurgl has an excellent reputation and has been superbly managed for decades by the former owners, the Scheiber family. We will continue to operate the hotel in their spirit and work closely with the family going forward," as Jörg Lindner, Managing Partner of the 12.18. Group, outlines. "We aim to implement targeted upgrading measures this summer while maintaining the charm and character of the hotel as it stands."
With this latest addition, the 12.18. Group expands its high-class hotel portfolio with a first hotel in the Alpine region. Westerland, 1 August 2019: On the occasion of its 150th anniversary, DEHOGA Sylt e.V. honours the Hotel Stadt Hamburg: The award of the honorary certificate to the oldest hotel in Westerland took place in the course of the summer party outside the gates of the hotel.
Claas-Erik Johannsen, 1st Chairman of DEHOGA Sylt e.V., together with Michael Lohmann from the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK), presented the certificate to the owners of the Hotel Stadt Hamburg, Jörg Lindner and Kai Richter, as well as the hotel director of many years, Christian Wirsich, in bright sunshine: "The Hotel Stadt Hamburg has always shaped Sylt and is a venerable representative beyond the borders of the island," said Johannsen.
"We would like to thank DEHOGA warmly for this honour and are delighted that the Hotel Stadt Hamburg, a traditional Sylt hotel, has a firm place in the island's hotel industry. This is a merit of Christian Wirsich and all employees who fill the hotel with life thanks to their hospitality," commented Kai Richter on the award.

The Hotel Stadt Hamburg in Westerland (Sylt) celebrates its 150th anniversary with a varied programme. Founded in 1869, it has made a name for itself as a traditional Sylt hotel with Hanseatic charm and was taken over last year by Düsseldorf 12.18. Investment Management GmbH.
To mark the start of the festivities, a large summer party will take place on 1 August: From 1 pm, the area in front of the hotel is transformed into a culinary promenade where hotel guests, holidaymakers and Sylt finger food and refreshments can be enjoyed. The offer ranges from "Stadt Hamburger" to lobster soup to Chicken Curry Bombay - one of HSH's first culinary classics - and can be purchased in exchange for "HSH Taler". In the hotel's own Qiara Spa, visitors can be pampered with short massages or beauty treatments. From 5:30 p.m. onwards, the British pop and funk band "Shakatak" will be thrilling visitors with its hits from the 1980s, including "Night Birds" and "Down on the street".
The "Friday Night Dinner" on 13 September will be another anniversary event: In addition to the finest cuisine and exquisite signature drinks, guests can expect disco classics from island legend and DJ legend Peter Kliem (Club Rotes Kliff) in HARDY's Bar.
Tradition unites: The Alte Gasthof in List, also part of the 12.18. group of companies, is also taking part in the festivities and will be offering the special menu "150 Years Hotel Stadt Hamburg" (150 EUR for two persons) from August.
At the end of the year, the Hotel Stadt Hamburg celebrates a New Year's Eve gala in the Sylt style and serves a pleasurable New Year's Eve menu by chef Ulrich Person.
